welcome to st. basil school

St. Basil School is
home to two of the most unique programs offered to students in Edmonton
Catholic Schools.
For over twenty-five
years, our Jan Paweł II Polish Bilingual-Program has been considered to be
a fantastic place for students to immerse themselves in Polish language
and culture. We are the only Polish Bilingual school in North
America.
We integrate language
and culture by celebrating important events like Dożynki (Harvest Festival), Andrzejki, Wszytkich Świętych (All
Saints' Day), Remembrance Day, Mikolaj (St. Nicholas' Day), Opłatek
(Holy Wafer), Tłusty Czwartek (Fat Thursday before Lent), and Trzeciego Maja
(May 3rd - Polish Constitution Day). We ensure that we are always
honoring and building strong relations with the Edmonton Polish
community.
The other program we
offer is the Jean Forest All Girls Leadership Academy. The mission
of the academy is; “To provide the finest Christ-centred learning
environment which inspires young women to develop spirit, leadership,
intellect, self-discovery and service.” By identifying female
roles in society and understanding what women’s issues are in learning,
working and living fully, the Jean Forest Leadership Academy will
empower young women to achieve academically and grow spiritually by
developing their gifts and talents.
We are strong in our Catholic beliefs and values
and are closely
connected with our parishes, the Holy Rosary Church (just steps away
where we can attend mass) and Santa Maria Goretti. We provide a
wonderful faith-based education.
We strongly believe
in our community and provide programs such as English as a Second Language, French as a Second Language (grades 4-9),
and Daily Physical Activity. Our students demonstrate high academic
results throughout our grades.
We hope that you can
find our site informative and it can help you learn more about our
school.
Please contact the
office or
email us for further information or a personal visit.
